Cottage 35 at The Inn Palmetto Bluff is perfect, perfect and more perfect.

It is one of those places where almost everything is a 10.  Nestled at the tip of 20,000 wooded acres on the May River, the Inn at Palmetto Bluff arouses the senses with its lush natural beauty and luxurious modern amenities.  Staying in one of the cottages at The Inn in Bluffton, SC, located between Charleston, SC, and Savannah, GA, the Inn is the cornerstone property of Palmetto Bluff, a developing town targeting the well heeled on a former game preserve.  Palmetto Bluff is a fresh new take on low-country style and Southern hospitality. In every direction is a picture postcard view, Spanish moss draped oak trees, whitewashed cottages, kayaks, alligators, fishermen and a lazy river to view from the cottage’s screened porch.

Built in 2004, all of the 50 waterfront cottages are individual buildings boasting 1140 - 1340 square feet of space.  A comfy king-size bed in the middle of the room is further enhanced with a crackling fireplace. Dramatic vaulted ceilings and wide planked pine floors, accompanied by plush couches and wooden chests complete the furnishings.  His-and-her sinks and dressing areas in the bath suite are outfitted with a generous bathtub and double steam shower.  A widescreen flat-panel plasma television and surround sound DVD/CD stereo is there for entertainment with an indigenous DVD collection including Forrest Gump.  A stocked wet bar with Sub Zero fridge is available for imbibing while enjoying an in-room meal on the screened in porch.  Relaxing on my private porch and taking in the peaceful natural beauty of the river views are all I needed to decompress at this special resort.  Waking in the mornings to the sun rising across the river and filling the room with sunshine is priceless.  We enjoyed strolling and biking around the property, golfing and spa-ing.  We biked and saw the wonders of Mother Nature and wildlife at their best.  Fishing poles and kayaks are both gratis to the guest.  A fire pit is set up each evening as guests gather around to toast marshmallows and make S’mores.

Ahh life is good.  Romance can be rekindled in this setting.  Boomer couples will find that this may be just what they need to keep their relationship exciting and “new.”  Whether together a few years or even 30- 40 years, the Inn at Palmetto Bluff has all the ingredients to add sizzle to your marriage or relationship.
